Who is HikeWithHayden?

Born and raised in Estes Park, I've spent countless hours exploring Colorado's forests, mountains, lakes, trails, caves, and backcountry. The outdoors have always been a major part of my life.

My father and grandfather both served our community as local police officers, and my stepmother works for Rocky Mountain National Park as an Emergency Communications Center Manager. Growing up in this environment gave me a deep appreciation for both the beauty of the mountains and the importance of respecting them.

Today, I work as an arborist, removing hazardous trees to help improve forest health and reduce wildfire risk throughout the region.

Why am I qualified?

I've spent years hiking and trail running throughout the Estes Park area, giving me firsthand experience with many of the region's most popular trails and changing mountain conditions.

As your hiking porter, I come prepared with offline trail maps, emergency supplies, local knowledge, and the equipment needed to help make your day on the trail more enjoyable. Whether you're carrying extra gear for your family, bringing photography equipment, or simply want to hike without a heavy pack, my goal is to let you focus on the experience—not the weight on your back.

Why do I do this?

My mission is simple: help more people experience the beauty of Estes Park.

Colorado's high elevation and rugged terrain can be challenging, especially for visitors who aren't accustomed to hiking in the mountains. By carrying equipment and helping make the day easier, I hope to make these incredible places accessible to more people.

Whether you're an older hiker, a family with young children, a photographer carrying heavy gear, someone using mobility equipment, or simply someone who wants a lighter, more enjoyable hike, I'm here to help.

When I'm not on the trail, I'm studying mechanical engineering. HikeWithHayden allows me to combine my passion for the outdoors with a meaningful way to help others while funding my college education.
